TAXAB’s Manu Gaur hands over draft of Responsible Parenthood Act 2019 to President Kovind

Manu Gaur informed the Honorable President that with the current state of growth the population of India will reach 200 crores by the year 2050, which in turn will lead to issues like poverty, unemployment, starvation, pollution, crime, and land dispute.

The Draft of Responsible Parenthood Act 2019, drafted by Manu Gaur, President Taxpayers Association of India (TAXAB), was handed over to the honorable President of India Shri Ramnath Kovind today.

Former Union Minister and Current Member of Parliament Dr. Sanjeev Baliyan, Several others MPs including Satish Gautam, Bhola Singh, Kunwar Singh Tanwar, TAXAB’s General Secretary Parmesh Ranjan presented this draft to President along with TAXAB’s President Manu Gaur requesting that the Responsible Parenthood Act be introduced in parliament as early as in 2019.

Manu Gaur also informed the Honorable President that with the current state of growth the population of India will reach 200 crores by the year 2050, which in turn will lead to issues like poverty, unemployment, starvation, pollution, crime, and land dispute. Its high time that the population law is implemented.

TAXAB’s President also updated the president that since independence, 35 private member bills have been brought out, 15 by Congress MPs, 8 by BJP MPs, 5 byTDP MPs, 2 by AIDMK, 1 each by TMC, RSP, SP, MNS, and RJD. But sadly, none were discussed in Parliament.

Recently under the leadership of Dr. Sanjeev Baliyan, 125 MPs had submitted a private member bill in the Winter Session, it was accepted by Honorable Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, but again time was not allocated for discussion.

In 1992, then Health Minister, Shri ML Fotedar brought the 79th Constitution Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha on the provision of limiting two children to contest elections, which is still pending.

The President lauded the efforts of TAXAB’s efforts for population control and suggested to organize different programs to educate the next generation on the seriousness of this subject.

On this occasion, the Honorable President also released the book Over Population – Burden on Taxpayers by Manu Gaur.
